Pots of flavour from good natured herbs

Good Natured helps bring cooking to life with a new range of living herbs grown exclusively in Lincolnshire, farmed in tune with Mother Nature, free from pesticide residue.  The range includes Razzle Dazzle Basil, Currylicious Coriander and Fantastic Flat Leaf Parsley.12-03-2010

There are lots of good reasons to buy Good Natured herbs.  They’re grown in tune with Mother Nature (so there’s no pesticide residue) in their own little fully biodegradable pots and sleeves.  They’re alive!  You cut down on waste by only harvesting what you need and with a little TLC they’ll go on growing for a few weeks..  What else?  Well, the smell of fresh herbs in the kitchen is sublime and they look pretty.  So simple, they’re perfect.

Razzle Dazzle Basil : homemade aromatic pesto is the very essence of summer.  Quick and easy to prepare it gives a boost of rich flavour to everything from bruschetta and pasta to potato salad and rustic homemade pizzas.  Whizz  Basil, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil and seasoning, pour into an ice tray and store in the freezer.  Pop out a cube whenever you need a Basil boost (and add a bit of freshly grated Parmesan).

Currylicious Coriander : the pungent stalks and leaves can be used in dips, tomato dishes, curries and salads.  Toss shredded roast duck and salad leaves with slices of fresh mango, sweet chilli sauce and freshly squeezed limejuice.  Sprinkle with freshly chopped Good Natured Coriander and serve.

Fantastic Flat Leaf Parsley : add gentle, aromatic flavour to fish and white meats.  Blend 2 parts extra virgin olive oil with 1 part fresh lemon juice, then add a handful of chopped Parsley.  Season and toss with shredded cold chicken and salad.

Good Natured herbs cost £1.28 for a large pot and are available from selected Asda stores nationwide. They’re happy on a well-lit windowsill or worktop, away from draughts.  Try not to over water, as they like to be kept on the dry side and always water from the base of the pot to keep your herb healthy.
