Get Fit with Flahavan’s

We all do it, make a New Year’s resolution to get in shape… and then break it.  This year, thanks to Flahavan’s, Ireland’s leading oats producer, there’s no excuse.01-12-2009

The most important factors when dieting are healthy eating and regular exercise, and with Flahavan’s Porridge Pots and the ‘Get Fit with Flahavan’s’ exercise tips,  this year should be a doddle.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and eating a nutritious breakfast every morning can be difficult for people on the go, or for those who are pushed for time.  Flahavan’s Porridge Pots provide a quick and healthy breakfast that’s not only delicious but also has a low GI (Glycaemic Index), which means the body burns energy slowly, helping to combat mid-morning cravings and therefore stops us from eating between meals.  As well as helping to ‘fight the flab’, oats help aid concentration throughout the day, lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

So, stick to your New Year’s resolution this year, eat porridge for breakfast and use the ‘Get Fit with Flahavan’s’ exercise tips below.  Good Luck!

• Why not take the stairs, instead of the lift
• Go for a brisk walk at lunch
• Walk to work instead of taking the bus
• Do half an hour of house work regularly
• Have a dance around your room whilst listening to your favourite tunes

I love this porridge, but usually buy the normal bags from tesco, and still cook it in the microwave.Much cheaper, but not as convenient.I also use skimmed milk powder with water, then i can make it to my desired consistency. Porridge is definately a good 'filler' for me on not just cold days. Enjoy!!!
