This is my story
I'm a single mother of two wonderful teenage children. I have always had a problem with my weight but it started to escalate when I was about 26 years old. I then went on to become the classic yoyo dieter and over the last 19 years the weight increased more and more. About three years ago I went on a diet that worked. I will say that it was not a conventional diet and I'm sure many people will know the one I'm talking about but it really did work and I lost nearly seven stones. Needless to say I felt wonderful and I managed to maintain it for six months. Sadly life took a downward turn and I sank into depression. In just over two years, the weight piled back on. The diet I was on was expensive and the costs increased drastically this year and I cannot afford to go on it again. I admit to comfort eating but I do try to eat healthily most of the time. However, the weight doesn't seem to want to come off and I get so frustrated. I'm sure most people on here understand exactly what I mean. I also get frustrated at the fact that obese people are considered lazy pigs amd that we lie about things we eat. I would like to see more support for obese people and more support for those who have successfully lost weight so that it doesn't go back on. Most of all I would like to see a lot more understanding from doctors, the government and from the slimmer members of public.
