This is my story
I am 38 years old, only 5 foot 2, and far too heavy for my small frame. I do not drink or smoke, but have always had a very sweet tooth; I am addicted to food like others are to cigarretes and alcohol. As a child I was sometimes chubby, but never had a real weight problem. When I was 28, my doctor put me on anti-depressants, one of their side effects was weight gain, but he never told me that until i had already gained 38lbs, and gone back to him in desperation. He changed the medication, but the damage was done.I have been fighting a losing battle with my weight ever since. In 1999, I broke my leg really badly causing me to lose my job and be inactive for another 18 months, add another 32 lbs. My heaviest weight to date has been exactly 200lbs, and though I have really tried, the lowest I have ever been since 1996, is 175lbs, 35 lbs above the weight I could live with. I have been single now for years as I do not have the confidence to go out or meet anyone, I loathe my body, but cannot seem to change it.
