This is my story
hi, my name is sharon i am 40 years old and last wednesday i went and had a gastric band fitted. i felt that after 20 plus years of dieting , i had achieved nothing but an extra 10 to 12 stone.
i wish my weight had caused me more problems than it did, but i have to admit that i don't unlike many, feel that i have missed out on anything. my problems started when i put this last 4 stone on my health and nearly all aspects of my life suffered.
i have been a single mum for over 20 years, zara is almost 21,and oliviais 10.i feel that what has finally spured me on is the fact that my youngest daughter is also struggling with her weight too, this and my health problems made me seek outside help.
i have had a wonderful experience , no problems to report and in the two weeks prior tomy op shed 1 stone, and to date i have lost a further stone since banding 6 days, i know that my new journey has just begun and that i will have to work hard as the band is only a tool to help me to get to my desired weight, but then i should be able to help my daughter more as i become much more mobile.
