This is my story
i have battled with my weight for 20 years you name the diet i have tried it pills and potions as well as every diet club there is. my turning point this year was when i went to my gp and asked him to sign a form for me to join lighter life and he refused saying it was a bad diet i was devistated. so i opted for a gastric band this was the hardest decision i have ever made as i have never had surgery and thought i might die but i was so depressed that i done it!!!! it has been a hard journey but i am finally 7 stone lighter and a size 12 and deleriously happy my life has began again. it is not a magic wand i have had to work with the band and there has been lots of vomitting the fills restricted me so much but i have been lucky and have only had to have 2 fills. i am still worried i will put it back on as i have not been this weight for 20 years.i wish someone had invented it 10 years ago and then my last ten would not have been so awfull. anyway it seems easy now i am there and a size twelve i still take size 20 into the changing room it will take a while getting used to the new me. i am also fretting about eating my xmas dinner but i will just have to buy an expensive new outfit to wear and hopefully this will make me feel so good that the dinner won't bother me but you can bet your last dollar it will bother everybody else more! i would love to help anybody else who has had a band or who is thinking of it. maria s.
