This is my story
Exceptionally happy girl with lovely home and work life (I work from home) with a fab and healthy family - husband Steve and 12 year old son Christopher.
Only cloud on the horizon is being overweight with a family history of diabetes. Both my parents died of diabetes related illnesses. I am diabetic but controlled by diet. My wimpy attempts at managing my diabetes need to be stepped up as I now have high blood pressure and chlorestrol. This is coupled with arthritis in my knees which makes exercise a bit painful.
Like many other have yo-yo dieted - my most succesful time was around 1997 when I joined Slimming World and lost the weight and even became a consultant. But put it all on again when I stopped.
My diet is now improving but exercise is my weakness. I have gone back to my lovely gym but have decided not to do things I hate - bye, bye recumbent bike and cross trainer - hello Boxercise and Fitball.
My aim is to lose enough weight so that my knees stop hurting and I can start dancing (for fun again)
