This is my story
Having been a slim but not skinny child and teenager, I had my first child and dropped to my lowest ever dress size of 12 having been a 16. Second child 7 yrs later saw me balloon..and balloon and balloon! Can't let anyone tell me my weight as I will become even more paranoid about it! My GP knows as does the hospital where I have recently been referred as I can't shift this weight regardless of what I do. Have tried Orlistat three times to no avail, have been working out at the gym and not lost an ounce...trainers saw me work up to 40 mins CV DAILY, plus floor exercise and swimming. Thyroid seems to be OK and although I'm menopausal at age 54, there is no real rational explanation for this weight gain.
Am currently taking Reductil which I have been on for 5 weeks now but I don't feel as though I've lost anything as yet and I hope to have gastric banding before too much longer. I know thats extreme but I simply can't bear myself like this any longer. I have no self esteem whatsoever and have no social life whatsoever. Simply, I hate myself. I also have heart problems as well as degenerative disc disease and arthritis so I'm pretty well stuffed!!
