This is my story
My mom once told me that as a very young girl I measured 24" , 24" , 24" - chest, waist & hips.
Now almost 60 years on, I measure 47", 41", 49".
I am appauled with myself.
I had 6 children within 7 years, was married to a soldier and spent 12 years being shunted from unit to unit as the Army dictated. Did put on a bit of weight through the years yo-yoing up and down and in 1980's was again wearing size 14 clothes. (Oh my goodness, I actually used to wear size 14).
A gradual weight increase till in 1996 when I married my 2nd husband David was then a 'healthy' 72 kilos. Was a bit up and down with weight from then onwards, always seemed to be checking calories, fat content of foods, ate healthy even then, fresh vegetables every day, no puddings, biscuits, cakes or pies etc, but it did not seem to have any positive effect on me.
Took a Herbal Life product for a month and put on 5 Kilos within that time, was horrified, so stopped using this product. Then some years later was urged to try this Herbal Life product again, being pursuaded that it DID work and as I would be carefully monitered by one of their agents, was bound to have a good result. But again, to my controller's utter disbelief and under her strict supervision I put on another 5 Kilos.
After David's death in 2003 I became a bit reclusive, not wanting to go out except to pay bills and buy food.
Now I live alone but do go out with a neighbour to the shops and on short holidays.
I joined Slimming World earlier this year and put on weight.. only 4 lbs, but it worried me so I left a message on an answering system for my controller to talk with me on this subject but never had a return call, so stopped attending classes.
Am now wearing size 24 -26 clothing... and absolutely hate it.
Would love to have a man friend in my life, (speak on a Chat-line sometimes), but as soon as they ask my 'dress size' I freeze up. When pressed to tell I do, then never hear from them again.
Do not take any medication, but am boarder line with diabetes 2, also with cholesterol.
Am still active, not a problem to walk and I do go for occasional walks alone, but not hilly areas or steps, then I have trouble with breath.
I guess I would say I am healthy but not fit.
What do I do about this. I need serious help. |
