Are you one of the many who's terrified of having surgery?
Hundreds are just too scared yet hate being fat... what scares you? And how do you feel about diets - can they ever be as effective and long-lasting? ...
I said I could and I DID!

This is my story
I am 56, I live in Hull and I have been over weight since I had my children. The youngest is now 33, so that's a long time!
I went to WW in 2000 and lost almost 4 stones, then in 2001 I became ill with what was later diagnosed as M.E. or chronic fatigue syndrome.
The enforced inactivity plus the ensuing boredom, led to the weight going back on over the next few years.
I saw the practice nurse at the surgery about my weight last September, I was 15st 3lbs. I think that is the most I have ever been. It was quite a shock.
I managed to get down to 14st 71/2lbs, but I needed the strictness of being weighed every week and also having others to talk to who were feeling the same way as I was.
I decided to go back to WW in November last year (2006) and up to now (August 7th 2007) I have lost 51 lbs. It is coming off much slower than it did before mainly because I can't do exercise or do anything that is particularly physical.
My eldest daughter Karen (36) had Gastric bypass surgery in July last year.At October '07 Karen weighed 13st and is being referred to the Plastic Surgeon.
My youngest daughter Beverley (33) had the Gastric Bypass done at the beginning of March. At October 07 Beverley weighed 14st 12lbs that's 8 stones gone in 7 months.
My son Craig (35) has now had his op and is now a "Loser", like his 2 sisters. At October 07 Craig weighed 22st 11lbs. That's 6 stones in 12 weeks.
Just a little footnote to my profile. I got to goal at WW on 25th September '07. I lost 5st 1lb between September '06 and September '07.
I couldn't have done it without the help of my Buddies on this site.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU.
