This is my story
I was always a thin child and adolesant, this was probably due to my traumatic childhood. Then at 18 I met my husband and we are still together now. This was a turning point in my life, as I found myself belonging. His family are all big eaters and I stopped starving myself and was ahealthy 8.5 stones until I had my 2nd child at 24. Then the weight started to go on and I just ignored it because I was content and hubby is also overweight.
So over the past 15 years I have gained 6stone, I know this doesn't seem a massive amount to some people but I am only 5'1 and most of this weight piled on in the last 4 years. Each time I lost a couple of stone I would gain it back and another stone on top, so I began to give up dieting because it was just making me fatter.
But my word can I eat, I can match hubby plate for plate, so something had to give. I decided to go for a consultation with THG and was banded on Feb 2nd 2007. I managed to lose 7lbs in the 2 weeks from consultation to operation date but this was mainly due to being terrified that my liver would be too big for them to operate, so this was my motivation.
I am now 4 weeks post op and have lost a total of 1 st 5lbs and have no regrets so far. My apetite vanished for 2 weeks I was on liquids so this probably helped with the weight loss. Feel free to read my blog.
