This is my story
I'm 44. married with 4 daughters aged 26, 22, 18 & 10 and 2 granddaughters. I'm a serial yo-yo dieter but the yo-yoing stops here: this time I'm going to get to goal and stay there!
At my heaviest I was 21st 12lb and at 5' 2" was morbidly obese. I developed type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Basically I was committing slow suicide. With my youngest daughter at only 10 years old, I had to think long and hard about the very real possibility of her being left without a mum - how could I do that to her? So on March 24th 2006 I decided to take matters in hand and started the Cambridge Diet which involves three meal replacements each day. I weighed in at 18st 13lb and am currently losing weight at a stone a month. I should reach my 10st provisional goal by November. (See my diary for details of my progress and current weight)
Then comes the hard work of maintaining but I'll be keeping a close and watchful eye on my weight: I never want to have to go through this again.
