This is my story
Hi,
From the age of 5 to 15 I was fat and then I decided that if I stopped eating whenever possible and was sick after eating anything substantial I could be thin. The strategy worked and I managed to fit into the size 12 jeans for a number of years but after counselling and doing everything else to excess until I was 21, including alcohol and men I decided it was time to get healthy. I stopped worrying about what I ate and the weight went on and on. A couple of years agi I managed to lose three stone ( on a 600 calorie a day diet) but this causes gallstones and after I had them removed the weight piled back on to 22stone. I wasn't happy with my weight but decied to stop hating myself and get on with life. Turned 30 met and married a lovely man ( who likes me as large as I was) and was generally happy. BUt at the back of my mind I knew the weight was really takings its toll and the wedding pictures were the final insult.
Felt too heavy to ride my massive very cobby horse and will only buy clothes on the internet. Knew I had the will power to lose weight but always stuggle to keep it off. I didnlt want to get 'silly' ans start starving again but realses I needed a tool to help me. We took out a loan ( no chance on NHS as too young and no real heaslth problems) on our house and I had my band fitted in Bristol on 7 March 2007. My journey has only just started but this time I cam going to lose my excessive weight and start to love me - everyone else seems to think I am pretty nice so I guess it is time to start believing them. Am in Devon but would welcome all buddies.
