This is my story
I had my gastric banding operation in June 2007 and I am trying however slowly to loose weight. So far I have lost two stone. I think I used to use food as a way of comfort and stuff down my feelings and now that I am eating less I seem emotionally to be all over the place, does this happen to anyone else?

I had always been on the heavy side but then were a few personal issues happened in 1996 and at the same time I had given up smoking and had damaged my ankle and the weight seemed to pile on, I went from being 9 stone 6 pounds to being over 14 stone in a matter of months and the ensuing years have become even heavier. Since then I have done everything possible to loose weight, i have been on the blood diet, tried dieting on my own and have rejoined weight watchers so many times I have lost count. I have always lost weight but I would get to a certain point and I would start getting really bad sugar cravings and no matter what I would do I could not get rid of them, inevitably my weight would shoot up again.

I am hoping that a new chapter of my life has begun with the gastric banding so that I can start my life as it was meant to be.
