This is my story
I am 41 years old, and have been a 'big' girl since I left school.
After the birth of my son 11 years ago, I promptly lost all my pregnancy weight, then put it back on and more, much more.
Last year I was on holiday with some friends, and the penny dropped that I was turning into a fat person who couldn't do certain things because of their weight and the pain of not changing was becoming greater than the pain of changing. (famous quote by someone, not sure who)
After lots of research and 2 consultations with very different Surgeons I opted for a Lap band fitted by Dr Christiaan De Bruyne in March 2006, and I have never looked back.
Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been a dream and anyone who thinks WLS is an easy option, IT'S NOT, but I wish I had done it years ago.
