This is my story
I am a mother of 3 beautiful children 17, 16, 13 and married to a wonderful man who I have been with for 21 years. I work part time. I have struggled with my weight for the last 16 years, I went from a very fit size 10 to a heafty size 28/32.
Eventually I underwent weight loss surgery in March 2006. I had a midband fitted, since being banded I have lost 9 Stone 4LB and over 200 inches.
I had my first fill in June 06 second August 06 and third November 06, June 07 of which 3 were done under xray. I have a total of 8.5ml in my 9ml Ami Band.
Had a 1ml unfill due to be overtrstricted, so now back to 7.5ml.
Having my band fitted has been the turning point in my life. My heaviest I was over 22 stone, on my op day I weighed in at 21 stone & 3lb, my weight loss may be slow but slow is good, I have dropped from a 26/28 jeans to a 14 and a size 30/32 top to a 16, its such a wonderful feeling.
My confidence grows day by day, for the first time in 10 years I am acutally looking forward to going on holiday, I feel great no actually I feel fantastic i could scream from the roof tops.
I do one hour every day on toning chairs and have just enrolled in my local gym, god I must be dedicated at its costing me £90.00 a month. I intend to do the gym at least 3 times a week. I'm trying to build the confidence to go swimming, but my skin is rather saggy now. So its a little off putting.
I have met some wonderful people on this site, who are all inspirational. and I would like to say a very big thankyou to all those peeps who have been thier for me. You are all truly appreciated.
People think weight loss surgery is the easy way out, I challenge anyone to go for it because its not easy, you have to put your heart and soul into it to make it work.
