This is my story
Hi
I have had a problem with my weight since I was told I was fat by my father!
Food became my friend and I used to hide food and eat in secret.
I wasn't fat as a child (I can see that now), I had some puppy fat but my father was an athlete and in the military so expressed his views very loudly.
I lost my puppy fat when I was 15/16 and felt fantastic. I latched on though to the first man that ever told me he loved me and got married at 18. My weight started to creep up and my relationship fell apart. Even my ex blamed the weight as a reason and said that is why he had an affair.
Broken and feeling low I did rebuild my life but ended up in another controlling relationship. This time my weight was used as an advantage as he had a preference for a larger woman in the bedroom but wanted a skinny woman on his arm when he was out. I left the relationship after reaching rock bottom and decided just to be me. I then dated many sorts of guys who gave me the confidence to enjoy myself and I started to love myself. As I write this I have been happily married for 3 years, I have a wonderful husband who loves me for who I am. He too is a big person which I had issues with to start with (strange I know) but over the last 2 years we have lost over 20 stone between us. We did this through using low cal meal replacements and slimming world. We have found loosing weight very easy however maintenance is a different story! We are now back on the meal replacements having learnt a big lesson. Even though we ate alot less and followed a healthy diet and exercised we were not strict enough with ourselves and let a few things slip. We are now on the next part of our weight loss journey but this time we are looking for additional support to help with behaviour patterns, image and addressing food addiction. This is a good webstie and we hope we find buddies who are going through the same journey. Good luck everyone.
