This is my story
I had weight loss surgery in October 2004 and then an apronectomy in July 2005 and am undergoing various other plastics over the next couple of years. I was 34 stone and am now just under 10 stone, I have a small pouch rather than a band, and although I can't eat solid food and have some issues getting enough protein, I have now got my life and career back, my life back, my confidence back and my husband and I renewed our wedding vows in April. I had to lose 10 stone before I could have surgery as it wouldn't have been safe to knock me out at 34 stone and only five foot two. Although it's been a tough journey, it's been a worthwhile one and I'd do it all again tomorrow.
