This is my story
I am 43 and have always been overweight, at 13 years old I was 10st. Over the years I have ballooned to 18 stone and got to the stage where I would go on a diet and I would lose weight and then put it all back on plus a little bit more.
I have had gastric band surgery last 31st March and a large band was fitted and it has not been very successful. To date I have lost 3 st 9lb in 15 months and I am exercising 3 times a week and eating healthily.
I have had about 11 band fills and my band is now over the manufacturers' recommended fill and I still do not have sufficient restriction and am able to eat a good volume of food without feeling full.
I have had a number of checks to see what is going on but nothing has changed. After much deliberation I am having my band removed and a smaller one inserted on Sunday, 17th June.
Well it is 17th June today and no band replacement as it was cancelled at the last minute as my consultant decided that there was not enough investigation done!
