This is my story
Been a yo-yo dieter for years and nothing seemed to work. And then i made things worse................i moved to Dubai!
I moved to Dubai for work and caught the "Dubai syndrome"! To anyone who has lived in Dubai they will know that everyone in the first months puts on loads of weight. This is due to the vast amounts of fine food, in fine restaurants in a very fine city.
Portions are large and its cheaper to eat out than in.
Dubai syndrome is what everyone here calls the fast weight gain everyone seems to go through.............and did i get the syndrome bad!
The problem i have is that after 6 months as an expat, the weight gain didnt stop for me. Living on my own means i socialise too much and tend to eat out every day (lunch or dinner and sometimes both). Its a hard place to watch your waistline.
The bottom line is all the food and alcohol consumed when eating out has left me feeing desperate to be slim and dreading social occassions as none of my clothes seem to fit and those that do are not what i want to wear.
After 3 years of suffering "Dubai Syndrome" i have decided to take the banding route as none of the diets, pills, beans salads etc have worked.
This will hopefully sort my weight out but its gonna be so hard living here and not be able to goto all my favourite eating places and the "friday champagne brunches" that is customery here for british expats.
Wish me luck as i go on the banding journey and i will keep my diary going to share my experience............8 days to go and counting :-)
