This is my story
I have been overweight for years and it has always got me down. I had a gastric band fitted recently and so far so good!! I am married to a lovely fella who does not mind what I weigh but just wants me to be happy. I have 3 children and I work part time. Most people see me as confident and secure but I am a real worrier and if people comment on my weight i go to pieces. I have a neighbour who is a really lovely woman but she is constantly telling me how voluptuous and curvecious I am. I absolutly hate it and avoid her because although she thinks she is helping she just makes me more self concious.
I have gone completely public about my band, which is not at all like me, but I have to say I have had so much support from friends and colleagues. I don't regret having the band for a second. So far I have lost nearly 3 stone and I am feeling so much better, but I still have about another 8 stone to go.
