This is my story
I've always been over weight, even as a child from the age of 5, and the only time I did lose it, it became a real obsession at Weight Watchers (7 Stone after having my daughter). Once I lost the obsession, it was difficult to keep the momentum and slowly I regained all the weight, over the next 11 years and along the way found it extremely difficult to lose again, as I have polycystic ovaries.
I have now had a gastric band fitted, and would like to get to know others who have also had it done. My weight had been affecting my health with Diabetes, high blood pressure & a fatty liver condition so I had to find a way to lose the weight & keep it off this time.
I had my band fitted 12th September 2006, and now I have lost 8 1/2 stone. I feel great and would recommend this as a way to lose weight, but it is not a magic wand, it still takes alot of hard work, but the band is a great tool to help you. It has been a life changing operation for which I'm 100% sure I made the right decision to have it done.
