This is my story
Hi
I was always active and healthy, I grew up iin South Africa and lived there for 24 years and led quite a busy active lifestyle, cycling, swimming and going to the gym, I just love sport in general. I moved back to Wales in April 1996 after my divorce and the weight piled on. It was very difficult for me to make new friends, and to fit it! I started to feel sorry for myself and just comfort ate and I started to get bigger and bigger! I meet my 2nd husband who hates participating in sport (but loves watching it on TV). I have tried everything when it comes to dieting and managing my food intake, I have lost my way big time. However I still swim and go to the gym and am quite fit for my size, that's why it so hard, when I say to people "Oh! I ran for 30 minutes, last night on 8.5kph" they would just look at me and I can see it on their face that they think I am lying. Anyway, I am now looking into weightloss surgery, and hoping to get a consultation in the next couple of weeks.

Year and half after banding... doing brilliant now lost 4 and half stone, losing steadily, but this is what I wanted, as I am exercising quite a lot to tone up, so I am on track to lose 7 stone in two years (but if I don't, tough!!). I have never been as healthly and fit as I am now, I run twice a week about 5 to 6 km each session, go to step aerobics twice week and swim once a week. My recommendation to any one that is wishing to change their life style is to get active, get out of the house, even if it is for a gentle walk.

Problems.... can slip back into bad habits very easily... eating wrong foods, chocolate, biscuits these foods can go down easily. I can't eat after 8.30 because I suffer from reflux at night and that is terrible, especially if you have to get up early in the mornings like I do. The food mind games are still there, but its getting easier.

Its now October 2010 - and i am back on track after being quite ill with reflux... I have a 7ml band and I have 5.25ml in it, my portions are bigger, but I don't want anymore in my band because of last time..... Acupuncture is working for me, I have this once a week and in the last month I have lost over 20lb, I just don't feel hungry and the food mind games are gone... therefore i have decided to change my target weight so I can loss another 5kg... as I now feel comfortable and confident enough to do so
