This is my story
i have always been big for as long as i can remember, my weight went up quicker than my age. i have tried all sorts of diets throughout my adult life and they work for so long then the weight goes back on plus some extra. i thought long and hard about surgery and in the end decided it was right for me , i did some research and then approached my GP who agreed to put me forward for surgery. it is by no means an easy option and you still have a lot of work to do afterwards, to retrain your brain especially when it comes to portion sizes. i had my surgery 6th December 2007 and for the first time in my life i feel as if i actually have a chance to lose the weight and keep it off. even the thought of having to lose upto 15 stone just to get within the 'NORMAL' range for me is nowhere near as scary as it was before the surgery in fact before i would have just blanked it out and continued to eat too much and gain even more weight.
