i have always been bigger that other people even at school where i met my husband this is our 15th year together i have 3 boys 12 ,9 ,4 my 9 year old has had abrain tumour he has been left with several disabilities including autisum, when he was having chemo it was 12 months long and he was only 9 months old. this is when i noticed the weight getting worse and my face erupted in spots which was the one thing i didnt get as a teenager and hairs on my chin. following research on the internet was convinced it was pcos but my gp wouldnt test so she sent me private (at my expense) and met a dr who said it was within 5 mins of meeting me she did a blood test to confirm and i was put on reductil xenical and metformin and diannete pill. my spots improved as they where that bad they got infected at points. my weight was 18st 9 went down to 16st 3 on my wedding day 2006 then by the new year was 17st 3 then my summer 2007 i was 16st 3 and this christmas was 17st 3.
well my lap band journey began in january 2008 my husband following an injury at work which has left him with spinal cord damage which is the worse thing as before we did own a gym and he worked as a fitness instructor at a gym with over 3000 members. I HATE THE GYM personally but he loves it. we are like chalk and cheese that way and he hates junk food which clearly i dont...
i had watched programmes like supersize surgery, family fat doctors and fat doctor on sky so had seen the dramatic changes that can happen we had talked about it several times but there was always something else to spent our money well on holiday in eygpt in january 2008 he said i should go ahead and booked even though he would rather me not have it done and exercise more but he does understand i would never do it!
So looked on the interenet and contacted loads of people in the end i went with wga which is part of the Hospital group. this was not my best decision but i am now 6 weeks post surgery and 15st 13 lb. so getting there
