This is my story
Hi Im Mel and I am according to my BMI morbidly obese!! Well that was enough to darken my day!
I wasnt a child with weight problems but I did put on loads when at 13 I started work in a corner shop, and as you can imagine the temptation was all too much.
My weight steadily rose for a couple of years then I went on a crash diet and found that I was so miserable fretting about food all the time so I decided to relax but then I fell pregnant and the weight stayed on after and I had made my life with a lousy husband who although was never nasty about my weight was very quick to leave me and the kids whenever it took his fancy.
In 2002 I finally had enough and threw him out and got on with my life and I lost weight brilliantly I was so happy and then I met Mark, my soul mate, I know that sounds corny but he really is!
Mark is also classed as obese but has lost loads of weight since we have been together and I have gone the other way and piled on the pounds!!
I am soooo miserable, Mark doesnt even know, I'm one of these folk who puts on a brave face but is actually dying inside.
Im supposed to be getting married next August but I want to be slimmer, nothing outrageous just a size 16 would be great!
I have thought about the gastric band for a while now and have decided to go for it, I have battled for years with my weight and now im weary of all the diets and pills.
This site is absolutely awesome as I can now let my frustrations out and talk to others who feel the same.
UPDATE 03.01.2007 Got married in December, horrified by the photos! Decided to make life style changes to get this bulk off!!
