This is my story
My weight has gone up and down over the years, but there are two specific experinces that have contributed to my weight gain, I was raped, (Iwas quite slim and very confident), I ate to keep men away and the bigger I got the less attention I got, which at that stage was good. I referred myself to a psychologist and spent 3 years in therapy. I built my confidence up and started looking after myself which included much needed gynae intervention. I started losing weight and I began feeling great. I then had to go on some medication prior to a gynae op, 'Danazol'. This drug gave me horrendous side effects, (they are steroid based horemone), my voice deepened and is irreversible and I gained over 3 and a half stone in 8 weeks, two years on and the gained weight is still attached. I tried all sorts of things to rid myself of this weight and it has been a struggle to say the least. So I asked for a Gastric Band, (On the NHS) I have my first appointment on 1st May 08. Fingers crossed.
