This is my story
Well I'm now 32 and the band hasn't worked for me moved from London to Devon last Oct after paying for a barium swallow to see if my band had slipped. I was getting terrible reflux and heartburn. The radiographer said there was a bulge and to see a consultant.
Once I moved I saw my new GP who said she would try and get me seen on the NHS which Hurray I got funding agreed only for band review mind you.
I saw them in may which they deflated the band completely. Mean while my weight is still going up and it was with the band at 12mls. Yesterday I went back for a review and spoke to the consultant he did say to go back to my GP for funding for a gastric bypass but would take up to or more than a year, so I'm taking a loan out to pay privately. This ruddy work so disappointed with spending all that money on a band and now I weigh more than I ever have in my life :-( arhhh anyway look to the future. So I have telephone appointment with the bariatric nurse next tuesday through southwest obesity. Fingers crossed not too long to wait.
