This is my story
I had my Lap Band done by Mr Somers on July 24th 2008 in St Richards Hospital.
I am so happy i have had it done.
I can't believe that i am nearly 40 (in 224 days) and it took this long for me to realize that i had to do something other than trying to diet. It was a vicious circle. I got sciatica in 2002 and since then my weight (although overweight all my life) has steadily increased. It peaked at 300lb - could i really be that heavy? I couldn't exercise as my back was too bad.
So i would wouldn't do really any exercise. and of course the weight piles on. I have tried Weight Watchers, lighterLife, the Mirco diet and the Cambridge diet.
The answer came this year when i finally moved and got a new Doctor, she was young and understood what i was telling her. She said she would write to the Hospital, 2 months later i got an appointment with Mr Somers, who said YES i could have a lapband. 3 months after that date i had my op. There was no way i could pay privately so i would have to waiit, and luckily it wasn't too long.
I loved the milk diet and i am still on it. i have tried to eat sloppy ready brek but honestly i'm not hungry. The weight is still coming off, some days i put a 1lb on and i wonder HOW? but i'm not to worried now as in 16 days i have lost 21lb. So whey hey!!!!!
Since joining this site, i have made so many friends. Its such a good site. Very informative. Its a joy coming on here.
I started my diary the day i started my milk diet. This really helped me because when i would get hungry i knew i would write in my diary and it would help take away the thoughts of food.
