This is my story
Up to age 28ish I weighed 8stone and only shifted 8lbs either side of that (yet I still felt overweight thanks to the Twiggy generation!) After I married at 28 my diet changed to include hubbies love of cakes and I bloomed and bloomed and bloomed - eventually hubby left calling me ugly (ahhh!) I was left with the extra weight and negative feelings! Fortunately I got over both after 10 years! (hope others manage in a shorter time) and dieted down to 8 stone again, felt great, felt healthy loved life! This lasted 4-5 years.

A range of not so good situations, complicated relationships, self doubt, frustration at work and increased weight followed.... since then for the last 15 years or so I have yo-yo-ed. Sometimes able to keep to a strict diet, often not. Weight ranges from 8st8lbs to 10st6lbs. My health is not stable with various irritating illnesses almost all the time (nothing major) where i want/need easy comfort food. The food I eat seems to be connected to my mood - when I feel 'normally healthy' I only want healthy food, when I feel slightly depressed, fuzzy, aching or heavy I want stodgy food.
