This is my story
I am 41 years old, I am married with three children and I have been overweight most of my life. My first diet was when I was 10 years old, I was sent to see the hospital dietician who had my school dinners changed to healthy ones which made me stand out even more.
I have been on most diets going but I haven't managed to keep the weight off so I have decided to self fund a gastric band. I hope to be able to afford it by August 2009.
I am a smoker so I need to give that up but last time I tried I gained 2 st so that is a bit of a worry. I don't know whether to give up before or after banding.

My hubby has got a loan so I can bring my surgery forward to 23rd May 2009.
