This is my story
I am an ex-pat nurse originally from Manchester but living/working in Saudi Arabia. I have had life-long weight ssues but it has spiralled out of my control since living here where low calorie foods are hard to come by and comfort eating through boredom is the norm.
I intend to go home for bariatric surgery in early September - RNY as I am not suitable for the lap-band due to the remote location that I live in.
Making this decision has lifted a weight from my shoulders - pardon the pun! I am currently trying to follow a healthy pre-op diet before I commence the liver shrinking diet I need to follow immediately pre-op.
I see my surgery as a tool towards weight-loss and better health, not an easy option.
