This is my story
I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 15 years old. I'm now 33. I've been taking steroids to treat the arthritis (which put on weight) continuously for the last two years and on and off for ten years before that. Also, I had my baby son late 2005 and put on 2.5 stone with him.
I'm looking to slim down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 12 stone before trying for another baby, or lower if I can manage it. I've been on the Shangri-la diet (google it for details) since May 2006 and have so far lost 34 lbs. It's an appetite suppressing diet and has made dieting a pleasure for me - totally unlike when I was doing Atkins 2 years ago. As Seth Roberts (the creator of the Shangri-la diet) says 'telling people to eat less and exercise more is simply the wrong advice'. Haven't we all known this in our hearts for a long time!
