This is my story
I'd always been big, even as a child. I got up to 22 1/2 stone by Dec 2001.In Feb of 2002 I had a gastric bypass, my surgeon was Mr Somers. After about 5 years I'd stabilised 14 stone. However a marriage break up boosted further weightloss and I lost another 2st 9lb, maybe a little too much as I was told I looked ill. My new partner also thought I looked gaunt. I went up to 12st, I was very happy at this weight - clothes fitted, I was comfortable, had loads of energy & confidence. We married Aug 2008, I fell pregnant and had our daughter in June 2009, I had put on 2 1/2 stone during pregnancy. This I found stayed afterwards, I also fell pregnant again within 2 months! I am now 5 months pregnant and 15st 9lb. I am so very scared of not ever being able to lose the weight again. I am able to eat far more that I thought I would be able after surgery. I get very hungry and quite often feel faint if I try to eat little amounts. I thought that I would be thin for the rest of my life. I now feel very big, bulky, cumbersome, unhealthy, unnattractive and uncomfortable. I realise that I'm pregnant, but the weight is going on far too quickly. Does anyone know if the stomach re-grows after srgery? Could I have a gastric band fitted after this baby is born? Has anyone else experienced wieght gain after bypass surgery?
