This is my story
I am 42 and fed up with being overweight. I started putting on weight when I left home at 18 years of age. By 21 I was a size 24.
My weight slowly increased over the years. My heaviest weight being 29st 9lbs.
I have dieted several times over the years. I am usually able to loose around 5 or 6 stone and then the weight quicky piles back on.
Whilst I had thought about WLS in the past my decision came following the breakdown of my marriage. I am now the main carer for my two boys and they need me - I also long to take the to Disney, which at my current size would be impossible alone as they would have no one to accompany them on the rides.
I am due to have a gastric bypass the 1st April 2010. My surgeon is Michael Van Der Bossche.
This has all happened very quickly as my first consultation was on the 18th Feb 2010 but I am so excited and looking forward to a 2nd chance.
